Svala Pendant
Description
Svala, the swallow. In folk tradition the swallow is the first news of summer, the bird that brings in the warm season. To wear one is to keep a little luck and a promise of return against your chest.
Made in Sterling Silver, Gold Plated, 18k Gold.
Handmade to order by lost-wax casting, no two are identical. Ships in 14 business days in signature packaging.
Material & Care
Each piece is cast in white bronze, sterling silver, gold vermeil, or solid 18k gold. Silver will develop a natural patina with wear, some love it; a soft polishing cloth brings back the shine in seconds. Store pieces separately, keep them clear of perfume and salt water, and they will outlast you. Every order ships in signature packaging with care instructions, and we repair what we make, write to us if a piece ever needs attention.
Design
Sœur Jumelle, "twin sisters" in French, is built on two halves, distinct yet complementary. Each design begins as a hand-carved wax in Paris and is cast by lost wax in New York by founder Sabine Borthwick. Because every stage is done by hand, no two castings are ever the same, the way nature never repeats itself. Not made for everyone. Made for one.
