Description

A single bird, wings fully open, wrapped around the wrist. The wings are the band. There is no separate hardware, no additional structure, just the form of the bird in flight, cast in metal, holding itself in place around the wrist by the span of its own wings.

Katyogle is the Old Norse word for owl. A bird that has watched over folk tradition longer than almost any other, patient, precise, belonging to the hours most people sleep through. It shows up in songs, in omens, in the kind of small daily magic that doesn't announce itself. It is a bird people notice, not because it's large or loud but because there's something about it that stops you for a second.

We cast this one by hand in New York, lost-wax, the same method as everything in the Folklore collection. The wings will sit slightly differently on every wrist.

Available in sterling silver, gold vermeil, and 18k gold. Part of the Folklore collection.
